Sailing on the Ruritanian Mississippi
Trees
A tree is the key of the environment
Some have the beautiful scent.
Trees make the O-Zone
[And] Without trees, the planet Earth will be alone.
Behold, I tell you a mystery,
We shall cherish and take care of trees.
And which is an illusion?
In the Midst of Time
In the midst of time
Fifteen billion years ago
The universe formed
In the midst of time
The solar system and the planets
Four billion years old
In the midst of time
Life and intelligence formed
Today, life still lives.
In the midst of time
MCMXCII a.D.
Can the Earth survive?
Cosmos (3D)
Cosmos
Dark, cold but nice
Contraction, Expansion
The Cosmos is our only home

Date of First Draft: around 1992
Information:Annotations: The last line in “Trees” inspired by the Moody Blues’ Days of Future Passed. “MCMXCII a.D.” was originally “1990 AD” but re-written as a homage to Enigma.
- Originally all poems written were under a personal publication Original Poems from the Past II. “In the Midst of Time” was inspired and was later rededicated to Carl Sagan (1934-1996).
- The original reason for the renaming of this collection was because I was not able to find Original Poems from the Past I. Ruritanian describes an imaginary place of high romance (originates from the 1894 book The Prisoner of Zenda by Anthony Hope)
