ABLINEAR FREQUENCY MODULATION 3.0
Time Past and Time Future Are Due to a Point of Origin That Once Was - 20 February 2004

This broadcast was an affirmation of life and true living as noted by the dedication. This is dedicated to John W. Power, who celebrated his **th birthday that day =]. He took it upon himself to encourage the growth and sustainment of my natural inclination to music, from driving me to cello lessons with Elizabeth Kellogg to taking me to the Kennedy Center to building up broken character and personality to letting me explore his vinyl collection... this is all from one who never had any formal music knowledge but knows the power of music and when natural talent does exist. This is for you Dad...:

VANGELIS – Voices – Voices
ENIGMA – Return to Innocence (Long and Alive Version) – Return to Innocence
This is my favorite remix of the single and this song convinces me that the project Enigma can do a live performance and pull it off really well. If the goal is have a broadcast that uplifts and inspires, what better way to do it then to use a song that my mother loves (she has her own copy of the single and absolutely loves the video for it), a song that was used in the 1996 Olympic Games and the amongst the well-known songs of Enigma (the other being "Sadeness"), even being the first track of the first Pure Moods compilation. The original can be found on the album, The CROSS of Changes.
KITARO – Mu – Astral Voyage
KITARO – Dawn of the Astral – Astral Voyage
KITARO - Endless Worlds - Astral Voyage
This is related to a faint memory that I had whilst living in Albuquerque, NM. My dad and I one day went to Sandia Peak, where there are hiking trails and ski areas. For this case, it was skiing. For the trip, my dad had a couple of Kitaro tapes, which included his debut album. These tracks stuck out in my mind a lot, as A minor tends to be my home key or the key that I try to go now and then. "Mu" is a minimal excursion involving what sounds like water dripping mixed with harps and synthesized pitch bends. "Dawn of the Astral" is built on an arpeggiation with acoustic guitar and other synthesizers before changing into a faster version with percussion and synthesizers. The last track was more of the first half of it because it fits well with the previous song with airy sounds and slow arpeggiations.
THE ORB – A Mile Long Lump of Lard – Cydonia
VANGELIS – Song of White – Antarctica
CHRIS CLARK – Farewell Track – Empty the Bones of You
CHRIS CLARK – The Sun Too Slow – Empty the Bones of You
CHRIS CLARK – Gavel: (Obliterated) – Empty the Bones of You
CHRIS CLARK – Gob Coitus – Empty the Bones of You
CHRIS CLARK – Betty – Empty the Bones of You
This is what I call the "Orpheus" block because when listening to this particular sequence, it spells out an interesting take on the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, one of my favorite Greek myths. (The following description assumes basic knowledge of the story). "Farewell Track" is exactly that: Orpheus' second farewell when Eurydice descends back into Hades (but only on the second half of the track which has the most heart-wrenching synth pads I have ever heard). "The Sun Too Slow" is a short interlude showing Orpheus sleeping to recover from his emotional ordeal. "Gavel: (Obliterated)" is Orpheus' nightmare of seeing Eurydice chased after, pursued and haunted by various demons [originally I conceived this song to be a good one to use for a fan video using material from all three Matrix films... that changed on viewing the "third"]. "Gob Coitus" - appropriate title for what I'm about to describe - is Orpheus' reality in confronting the Thracians and the whole feast of Bacchus with cannibalism and a huge orgy. The end is his death and dismemberment. "Betty" shows his reunion with Eurydice in Hades and there was much rejoicing and tear-jerking. I wonder what the final product will look like...
